Hey guys.

Not stompbox related, but I figured I'd take a shot.
I have a schecter 4 string that I got from GC like 3 years ago or so.  Recently, I began noticing while I was recording that I would get these little blips of clipping every 5 to 10 seconds or so.
Then, out of nowhere, while I was playing tonight my bass sounds like it's a fuzz bass all the time (which could be cool, but... =)

I don't know jack about active pickups or anything, i'm assuming I am just going to take it in to get fixed, but I was wondering if anyone might have an idea of what could cause this?

Thanks
dave

Try a little tenderness.

Evad Nomenclature

did it already.
Old one was at 9.12 anyway.
Wish it was that easy! =P

I have a Fender jaguar bass... with pretty much the same problem... only the 'distortion' happend when the battery died... Wich it often did...

The easiest way to solve the problem: Remove or replace the active system!

I'd try here:

But I don't know how you could fry your pickups. I've had a number of basses with active systems and never experienced that.
