Smallbear 4PDT footswitch

I got one of these 4PDT footswitches for my JH Tau Pipe Phaser project, which is ordinarily not configured for pedal (most ppl do rack or synth module, but it will make a fine, though not small, pedal.) Project info here: http://www.jhaible.de/tau/jh_tau.html

I've never used one of these in a project and the Tau of course is expecting you to use a toggle. I want to make sure I understand the pinout on the switch, no real markings to speak of and no data sheet. Help!

a 4pdt will of course be the same as two dpdts put together, side by side....

Small bear used to have the wiring datasheet on their page, I though...

Anyway, I remember it was like what darron said, looking at it with it held horizontally (long ends on the top and bottom) the first three rows of lugs are one dpdt and the next three are another. I think that was how it went

Map or no, I always check it out with a meter before I start to solder, although with a 4PDT it ought to actually be harder to make a mistake than with a 3PDT.

That thread was very helpful thanks - sorry, I probably should have done a forum search before posting   

This switch type has two rows of 6 so I'll test against the diagram in the thread with a meter and see if it's right.

I think the reason the Tau project requires a 4PDT is because of the stereo outputs, have to look again- the wiring diagrams aren't very extensive because there are so many optional ways to wire the panel components.

two rows of six is most likely laid out like a pair of DPDTs laid end to end or side-by-side, depending on which direction the lugs are facing.

Thanks Mark. Unfortunately it's pins instead of lugs which makes that a bit murky! I wish it was lugs, wiring this thing is gonna be fun! a huge pain!

you could always solder it to a bit of perf or pcb and use that for wiring.
