Help me finalize my multi-effect unit line up

I've taken a short break from pedal building and been messin with amps, but now I'm ready to get going on my long anticipated multi effect all in one unit. I have a 20 inch long slanted Hammond enclosure that I plan on using similar to this.

I measured and I should be able to get 14 (maybe 16) switches in two rows with good spacing all the way around. I want to incorporate the most popular/common effects there are. I want to try and put rock and roll in one box.  ;D

I plan on using 2 spyder power supplies for the power. each effect will have its own power supply with the left over 9v transformer taps powering the leds.

My tentative layout is this. first switch tuner out (kills signal to rest of unit for silent tuning) . Second will be a gain section bypass. Then starts the effects in this order, Dyna comp, Orange squeezer, Fuzz face, tube screamer, Tone bender MKIII, Rat, Dist+, Big Muff, boss super overdrive, this is where gain bypass would connect bypassing all previous effects including comp, then ada flanger, small stone, Aqua puss delay. I would like to put a LPB1 booster somewhere in the circuit to give a lead boost, but I'm not whether to put it at the end or at the end of the gain section.

I'm sure I forgot a popular effect or two in my planing stages so any comments would be appreciated. I'm trying to make this more of a classic rockers dream and I'm not too keen on adding modern effects (zvex, lovepedal) and such.

Have you read the Geofex.com FXRack article?  It'd be nice to have multi-effect board, but not be married to every component....

Thanks for the reply. I looked into that design. I'm trying to stay away from connectors and jacks as I hear the reduce signal over a long run of effects.

Compared to what your effects will be doing to your signal, connectors themselves aren't going to present even a remotely significant signal degradation.

I'd say that the ability to patch between effects (or at least groups of effects) in whatever order you please would be far greater a feature than having NO options that way.

Additionally, any issues that might arise from length of signal chain can easily be remedied with a good buffer, which will essentially negate any degradation issues.

Either way, do you know the order you want to place all these effects in? If you know what it is and never want to change it, no problem. However, if you DO want to change, it will be a pain.

You know, I never gave the ability to change the line up any thought as I figured id run one rig, but the more you guys say it makes me think I may want to make this with some flexability in the build. I just realized having an a/b switch to switch between two effects lines would be nice. Also changing the order would be nice too. I think I need to look into some sort of relay/switch controler like my ibanez ue400. That would be the bomb if I could a/b  the line and the order of all the effects.  :D

Man, I thinks you need help to initiate your multii-effect path not finalize it. :icon_lol:
