I recently true bypassed an Ibanez PH99 Classic Phaser. I noticed that on occassion, I will get a slight pop on switching, especially when it's been sitting in bypass mode for a while.

My question is, if I add a 1M pulldown resistor on the input, will that have an adverse affect on the function of the circuit? I would think not, but I haven't tried doing something like this before. There is no resistor to ground on the input of the circuit as it came from the factory. My only experience with pulldown resistors in on distortion pedals, so sorry if this is a dumb question...
