is there an effect that does the freeze gliss featured on the HOG?  this is where it holds a chord and you can play over it without whtever your playing affecting the held signal

boss digital delay

on one of the settings it'll hold a chord or short riff for as long as your foots on the switch and you can play over the top of it.

With the DD-7 you don't even have to hold your foot down and you can do overdubs. It's a bit of a pain to stop it without the external switch, though.

The old Boss DF-2 Super Distortion Feedbacker used a dual-mode footswitch where a single tap would bypass or engage, but holding the switch would make the internal VCO track your input pitch and generate whatever note it detected.  That synthesized note would be held for as long as you depressed the switch, even permitting you to riff over it.  Not exactly a chord, like the HOG does, but in the same vein.  According to the manual, the Behringer clone of the DF-2 works the same way ( http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/FD300.aspx ).

But the important part of the freeze gliss, to me, is the gliss, not the freeze. There is no DIY pedal that allows you to do polyphonic glissandos like the HOG does. I just had to sell my HOG to pay rent.  :'(

ya, bieng a student, a hog just isn't an option for me

sorry about your loss taylor :icon_cry:

It's a super fun pedal, though. That gliss function is nuts. The only thing is that it's tough to make the thing not sound like an organ. One of maybe 3 digital pedals I like.
