I'm working on my first project and have what is most likely a very basic question:  What is a reverse-audio-taper pot?
It's rated at 75K and the project is from an article from 1971 so I realize the "language" may be a bit out-dated.  Just need a quick clarification from someone. ???    Thanks

Small Bear has reverse audio pots..  http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=116

The don't have a 75k value, but you can parallel a resistor with a higher value pot to get the correct value...

This could probably be answered if you were to utfsf, but...

"audio" generally means the same as logarithmic taper.

"reverse" means the steep end of the cover is at the other end of the pot's rotation.

If you have trouble finding one of these, you've got a couple options:

1)  If you can get your head around turning the knob the "wrong" way, you could use a standard audio (or log) pot and just swap the two outside lugs.  Probably the easiest solution.

2)  Find a logarithmic pan pot, which is really two pots sharing a shaft.  One is log (and will go unused) and the other is reverse log.

3)  You could google "the secret life of pots" and figure out how to use "tapering resistors" to turn a linear pot into something like a reverse audio.

This link explains how to get many different tapers from a pot and a resistor or two. Reverse Log (Reverse Audio) taper is labeled 'C'. The graphs might help you get a better idea of what the taper looks like as well.
