I have one of these that the chorus cuts out unless I put slight pressure on the rate knob. The solder joints appear fine but I am going to go over them and start there. In the event I need to try replacing the pot, can anyone point me to a part number for the Alpha pots that are used in these? I have been having a hard time trying to find them on Mouser, Allied, etc. Thank you.

Hi there. I had a similar issue with my SCH-1. I am pretty sure that I replaced the pot with a different type. And if I recall correctly, I may have used hotglue or something to keep it in place. I can rip the thing open and check if you like. It works a treat.  :)

Wow, this is the exact same problem I've had with mine since I bought it, it would work sometimes and then I'd take it to a jam and it would stop working.  Pressing on the pot would get it working temporarily.  Didn't know it was a common problem.  I tried to send mine back to Musician's Friend, but it was too late.  I always thought I'd just buy another one, but they soon were discontinued.

So, replacing the pot is the answer?  I've tried everything to get it to work short of that.  I thought it was an issue with the grounding.

Similar issue. It was a while ago, but I think the bottom of the pot had cracked or something. Replacing the pot fixed mine.

Thanks for the replies.  I don't know if replacing the pot is THE answer but I figured it couldn't hurt to track down a replacement and try it. The pots are stamped Alpha right on the side so I am hoping they are in fact available somewhere. I am just having a hard time finding it.

I'd love to rehouse it in a bigger box but I have not had much luck finding info on how to go about changing the switching.
