ok i'll start from the top. i recently snagged an endorsement with madison amps and my new head does not have a mp3 in for me to practice with. so after i little reading i have decided to make a 2  channel mixer to insert it into the effects loop. so a few questions:

1. is this even a good idea, will it be functional?

2. i understand the circuit i need to build but i am unclear as to what resistor values to use, and what pots (25, 250, 500k, or something else entirely?). I have a volt meter so i could check max output on the lines if that information is needed.

3. i read that if i do not use resistors i could damage my psp or send from the preamp section of my amp because of a "signal blowback" or something. could i damage my amp even if i do use resistors?

on an end note, this is basically what i am trying to build except 2 channel, so if anyone has the schematic that would probably answer all my questions, unless it wouldn't work for this particular application.

this looks like it would work.

i have some 10k resistors on hand, would those be sufficient?
