Sputtery sounding 3knob tonebender

Built this one a long time ago,didn´t like the sound.... It´s quite sputtery and not good with chords. Some places on the fretboard gives kind of an quiet octave up effect.
I like the soundclips I heard from other places though, so i know theres something wrong with mine.

I have installed trimmer on the collecors and have tried biasing by ear...no luck
Maybe someone can point me in the right direction?
Used a torchy vero-layout, based on a schematic from smallbear
