PCB with ECBE?

Im thinking of making the Ampeg Scrambler clone from Tonepad, BUT iv noticed on the PCB the 2N5306 and BC169B are drilled for 4 legs marked ECBE.



But they have 3 legs Collector, Base, Emitter.........don't they?

It's for transistors that have different pinouts on the casing, probably.  So you don't have to twist the legs of the transistor.

Hey Brook--that's basically just really convenient planning to accommodate different transistor pinouts without making you twist the legs of your transistor around to fit they layout :)

Notice how both 'E' holes are connected by traces.
