Thanks for the heads up and info geertjacobs. Although, I am still wondering if omitting that 220uF cap in my CE-3 will cause problems  ???

Any help from Mr. Hammer.... chorus expert?

The CE-5 schematic also indicates that the transistor circuit provides a voltage drop from 9 volts to 8 volts.
The CE-5 schematic has a 100uF cap for this 8V supply.

I keep looking for a similar capacitor in the CE-3 schematic in other portions of the schematic (connected to a black triangle), but i can't find one.

When in doubt, I'd go for the CE-5 supply and put in a 100uF cap.
