Hi,
I've built this wonderful phaser yesterday, great swoosh and all, but I have a problem. I did a mod with a switch that chooses between 4 and 8 stages. With 8 stages the pedal doesn't have problems at all. In the 4 stages mode I have a strange issue. The sound is really really good if I play softly, but when I play harder the phaser kind of distorts. It's not a pleasant overdriven distortion, but it's more similar to a fart. If I play at the same power with 8 stages I don't have such a problem... what could it be?

Thanks in advance to those who'll read.

I thought the problem was the RC4558 I've put in the effect, so I changed the chip with other dual opamp's to hear any improvement. I've tried TL082, NE5532 and LF353 and I had a really strange behaviour of the pedal: with 8 stages the sound was perfect as before, but with 4 stages I could not hear any sound at all! I put the 4558 back and I can hear sound in 4 stages mode, though with the issues written in the previous post.

For further info's, I used this layout for the switch between the two modes:

please, help me!!

ok, i solved it.
in poor words, I wired the switch in a way that pumps always in 9v to the daughter board.
