Powering LOTS of small speakers

I imagine that cab sounds much different than more traditional cabs. Speaker size plays a critical role in how everything is going to sound. Even if the surface area of all of those smaller speakers equals what would typically fit in that cab (using 10" speakers), the sound is going to be different. Small speakers have frequency response charactistics than a larger speaker, namely more focus in the mids and highs with a distinct lack of bass response.

but the "ideal" speaker has a big surface area, has a cone as light as possible and should be as responsive as possible. if you try to make one big speaker you gte problems. too big and it will lack responsiveness. too light and it will distort.

so if you make a lot of small speakers act like one big speaker you can use very light materials and get the same surface area. soi believe it will work well.
