Does anyone know where I can find Diffused 5mm Purple LEDs. All I can find is Ultra-Violet but I really want Purple.

These aren't diffused, but they are definitely purple--I've used them on several effects before...still have like 12 lying around for my in-progress sequencer project.

This should give you an idea of what they look like--it's brighter than it looks in the video due to the cam angle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzsG8IUoFko

And you could also diffuse them yourself with some fine grit sandpaper

I'd imagine Mouser has some... they had pink ones  :icon_lol:

Are these for that Barney themed pedal you are working on?

Easy now, John--don't forget that you powdercoated that gigantic, purple enclosure for me--that thing is going to be stuffed with purple LEDs. You're guilty by association  :P

Banzai has purple LEDs! They are bright and look real nice.

I Purchased Plenty of Pretty Purple 3mm LEDs from Pedal Parts Plus, Probably less than a year ago. :icon_mrgreen:

They have a real nice color temperature... but 3 volts barely lights them up.
I run them at 6V and they're not nearly as bright as the other colors.
I've been meaning to buy some from another supplier to see if this is a common characteristic.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Deception does not exist in real life, it is only a figment of perception.

Just use a smaller current limiting resistor. You have us to 9v on tap...
