Here are two verified big muff layouts if anyone wants them.

i edited the torchy layout in photoshop to make things easier on myself while i built these two versions. might as well share with anyone who wants to build them. the resistor numbering is off from the schematics i used, but the layouts and values are correct. on the original torchy one there was no resistor from the base of q3 to ground because that version didn't use one, but in the interest of saving myself time by simply editing the existing layout for these versions rather than making whole new ones i had to call it r22 instead of r15 or whatever. anyway i noticed a lot of uncertainty as to whether or not the original layout was verified, but these most certainly are. enjoy!

Awesome! I made myself a promise that I wouldn't build any distortion/overdrive/fuzz boxes for a few months, but now you're really tempting me to ditch the world of vibratos and tremolos for a bit...

haha i need to make that same promise to myself. i've never built anything but. well...i did build a dual lpb-2 once...but that was literally like the 2nd or 3rd thing i ever built and about 7 years ago. i need to branch out a bit, but it's just so easy to be tempted to make more distortion/fuzz! all those dirt pedals i wanted but couldn't afford and which are now long out of production. anyway if you've never played a triangle muff i highly recommend that over the civil war, which is more standard big muff sounding. the triangle is so different. you can actually turn the sustain knob all the way down and play with clarity. there are a lot of usable shades of distortion/fuzz. very nice and a bit more natural sounding. of course maxing the sustain gets you into more of the typical big muff territory, although there is far less bass and more mids. i'm pretty happy with that build. im actually going to compare it to my soul bender clone tomorrow. it might have the edge as far as midrange goes and usability in a band setting.
