Ive built pedals with Positive ground construction and ran them on regular Wall warts and off a dc brick. But now I have a pedal (production made) that Im worried about trying this with. Why have my other positive grounds worked? am I slowly destroying the pedal?

thanks scott
put it together, now take it apart

ok Ive built germ boosters, rangemasters, Germanium Fuzz Faces etc... and they all will work on a regular 9vdc wall wart, no problems what so ever and now I have a Home Brew Electronics Germania that Im wanting to put on my pedal board but I power my board with a Dunlop DC brick. I've got positive ground circuits that work with the regular adapters and the brick am I slowly killing these pedals or will the Germania work as well, I havent tried it yet because I dont want to fry it.. I know this sounds like a noob question but Im just confused as that my other + grnd circuits run fine on these two powering options, or atleast i think they are ok...

The thing about positive ground is simply choosing your reference voltage.  Your DIY effects work fine because what is +9V in normal pedals is ground in your positive ground pedal and what is ground in your normal pedals is -9V in your positive ground pedal.  When you wired up your own boxes, you probably wired up the DC jack to the circuit such that that was the case.  However, an issue can arise when trying to use a positive ground pedal wired as above with a power supply that is shared with negative ground pedals.  You have to be very careful about your grounding scheme, because one bad connection and POOF something (probably a pricy germanium transistor) lets out its magic smoke.  At least, that is how I see it.

The isolated fuel tank is a much better supply because of it's isolation, and I suggest using that.
the DC brick does NOT have isolated outputs
Quote from the 'fried my DC Brick thread'.
With a power supply using common grounding, connecting positive and negative ground pedals together ='s connecting + and - together is of course a direct PS short out.
Consider the MAX1044, or other voltage converter to get a - supply going, perhaps there's room right in the box next to the Ge circuit.
