Hi guys,

I've a serious issue with ALL my fuzz face type circuit. I do the regular fuzz face circuit and the fuzz pot 1K gives nothing expect at max . The curve before the exact 1K value gives dull sound and absoluetely "no fuzz"  that makes that pot. useless , I have to put it all the time at max.

It's a known problem ? or that's juste me ?

Are you using the correct taper pot? Is the pot working, or broken?  Do you have the bypass capacitor from the emitter in the circuit as well?  Just a couple of places to look...another thing...are you using the original 60's fuzz face circuit, but using modern (silicon vs. germanium) transistors? THAT will cause very little fuzz, too!   Just asking...

I tried a lot of different values, nothing changed. :-\ 10uf , 22uf , 100uf (on a wooly mammoth clone wich has the same issue). different transistor.

I even tried to swap the 1K for a 2K and it's the same case, fuzz only at max.

Otherwise maybe there's an other way to put a gain control , really useful.

Is your guitar wiring or pickups abnormal? If your guitar has an especially high output impedance, your fuzz will seem to have less gain available.
