AMZ Mini Booster Problem

I built my mini-booster years ago, when I first found this forum. It's worked fine for a long time. I love it.

But recently, it started doing this thing where it takes about 20 seconds to "power up" when I first step on it. (It's powered via a Voodoo Pedal Power, but it acts the same way when I use a battery.) It takes a few seconds for the LED to light up and for it to start outputting sound -- almost like it's hooked up to a variac and someone is slowly turning up the voltage from zero.

But the funny thing is, after it "powers up" the first time, it's good to go. If I bypass it then reengage it, it comes right on.

Any idea what the hell this is?

I'd check the power-filter cap.  I'd check all of the caps actually  ;)
