Daft question I know, but the round plastic 2.1mm DC sockets we all use, they are for plugs of 5mm external dimension, correct? I never really though about it, having used dozens, but a guy in the US just bought an amp from me and wants me to recommend a DC adapter from Radio Shack - I'm thinking the Enercell™ Adaptaplug™ K is correct, can any of you guys confirm this?

I just measured a standard plug and it is 5.4mm outside diameter.

If you know the mouser part number, there is probably a datasheet available that has the exact dimension and tolerance.

Here is the one i use all the time:

http://www.mouser.com/catalog/specsheets/KC-300872.pdf

It specifies 5.7mm, which makes a snug fit with my Boss PSA-120, Godlyke adapter, and standard EHX 9.6VDC adapter.

Oh, BTW, "M" from radioshack would probably work fine. i've used it before with different EHX and Boss pedals, plus that jack i just mentioned below.

Rat Shack has a bunch of those you can just plug in to see if it fits, and your amps are small.  Recommend whatever, but suggest to him to just take the Murder One with him.
