Hi guys I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this question but here we go:

I have a Dunlop 95Q Wah pedal. It sounds great and is +perfect+ for my sound however I'm having probs with the volume -- the volume goes a lot louder whenever the wah is engage and closed or almost closed. I've got a Boss Compressor pedal (also tried a behringer one) but it hasnt manage to reduce it enough. Does anyone have Any thoughts how I can reduce the volume??

On another forum someone once suggested installing a potentiometer after the final output.. im not over technical so this doesnt mean a lot of me so need some more guidance if this is the correct solution. Can anyone help me out on how to do this or any other suggestions to reduce the volume when the wah is engaged ?? thanks a lot any help is appreciated :) attached is a pic i labelled of the internal of my wah.

You have the volume on minimum and the volume boost turned off and it's still boosting the volume? A friend of mine has one and never had that problem.

And what do you mean "closed or almost closed"? Toe down or heel down?

Also, your pedal uses surface mount components (little tiny thingies) and that makes it hard to change anything (although adding a potentiometer like you mentioned may have nothing to do with the internal components).

Hiya sorry yes when I say closed I mean toe-down (the higher EQ end). Yea boost is off and volume is min. It makes a difference when I have boost on as this boosts the volume a lot. Yea so with toe full down the volume is louder than when playing the same thing without the pedal engaged. I basically want to it get it as close to unity gain as I can.
To be honest I'm not totally sure what a potentiometer is but am looking for some suggestions/guidance on what i can do to resolve it. Thanks :)

There are two most likely causes of this problem that come to mind.  Either the volume pot is faulty and doesn't go all the way to zero, or there is some resistor between lug 1 of the volume pot and AC ground.  Since Joe Hart's friend's pedal doesn't have this problem, I would suspect a faulty pot.  You can more than likely buy a replacement at Mouser, Digikey, or maybe even Small Bear.

Heya thanks very much for the advice. If this is the case, what steps do I take to do this... I assume I have to remove the green object at the top of the picture where the volume knob is attached. I'm not used to tinkering with the internals so if its too tricky I have a friend who could potentially help me out but hopefully can do it myself.
