what are the germ diodes that are clear with green and orange stripes? #?
put it together, now take it apart

Manufacturers used to identify germanium diodes with stripes at the cathode end representing the number with the following code (same as for resistors):

black = 0
brown = 1
red = 2
orange = 3
yellow = 4
green = 5
blue = 6
violet = 7
gray = 8
white = 9

So a diode with stripes (from the end) green, green, orange would be a 1N533.  Red, white, green was quite common - the 1N295 used as a detector diode in a lot of radios.
