I haven't used Gimp, but assuming it's an open source Photoshop clone, here's what I do in Photoshop:

Use the measure tool to find the distance between pin 1 and pin 8. It should be .3 inches. Say you measure it to be .66". .66 (actual measurement) divided by .3 (target) equals 2.2. Go into "image size", take the current image size, divide by 2.2 and resize the image to that number.

So

n=measured pin spacing/.3
target image size=current image size/n

It still prints out too small......

whats the process of using this gimp software?

resolutions, sizes, percentages?  Ive printed out this thing 10 times and its still not the right size!

Click print.  A box should pop up with two tabs.  One says General, the other says image settings.  Click image settings.

In this tab you will see size and position options.  X resolution and Y resolution should both be set to 200.25 Pixels/in.
Try a little tenderness.

It is.  And it still prints out way too small.

well I resized it to 128% at 200.25 resolution with GIMP and it looks close enough.

18 prints later......

is this going to be the same size/resolution for all layouts made with this DIYLC software?
