Hi, are the transformer and charge pump as listed here http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=26
suitable for UK use or do I need 240v equivalents?

You'll be fine with those parts as you won't be putting 240V through it, the circuit only needs 9v.
Sticking a tube into a tube screamer to get good sound is about like rubbing yourself all over the weight stacks at the gym to get stronger - R.G.
