If i were to adjust the plate voltage down, would I lower or raise the 15k resistors??

also, the schem doesnt work with the 10k resistor in series with the power. Why is it there?

Lower the resistor value and the plate voltage will go lower.

Why is it there?  Who knows!  Looks like a mistake, or a carry-over from blindly copying a schematic from a high voltage design.  Its purpose is probably power supply filtering or decoupling, but 10k/100u is ridiculous.  Maybe 100 ohms would be more appropriate, or just short it altogether.

thanks that what I did. I just left it out. Also put the tone stack in between the triodes and before a volume pot. Upped the first cathode cap to 1 uf and it works fine. But it measures 6.8v at the plates instead of exactly half. It don't matter that much eh?

If I wanted to put a switch in somewhere to get it into overdrive what would I do? up the cathode caps and resistors? Anywhere I could add diodes in or something?

The tonestack you added between the triodes will be lossy, less chance of getting good overdrive of the first stage into the second. Try reducing the value of R8 right down. You can have clipping fun  by putting two back to back diodes in series with a low value cap between grid 1 and the anode.......some loss of gain but some nice clipping maybe.

Is that why the tonestack is put afterwards in the schematic? I tried to make up for the loss by upping the first cathode cap to 22uf, then i went down to 1uf. I'll mess with the resistor in a bit.
