How do you Label your stompboxes?

Finishing up some of my pedals that I have been tinkering on and wondered how you guys go about putting the labels on for the controls. Do you have a preferred paint that you use?

I bought up a wad of rub-on lettering from an art supply store that was getting rid of it cheap some years ago.  I use that and a couple of light coats of clearcoat.

Since black lettering limits the range of colours one can use and still maintain visibility, I kept my eyes peeled for white lettering, and was able to score some at a small shop in Berkley 2 summers back.  That'll do me for a while.

I find it helps to give a very light coating of clear laquer first, before applying the letters.  Helps them stick better.

I print the design/text/logo/whatever on a adhesive Avery paper using my inkjet, I cut-it to size and I stick-it on the top of the project box. The printout also includes crossed-lines that I use to punch the holes for pot and the switch. Then, I drill the holes and I spray 2 coats of clear lacquer.

I designed my graphics, then had a sign making company print them out on clear vinyl decal (It's like a clear sticker). They use a foil to print, and they can print white or black, or whatever colour they have a foil in and I would like them to use. It turns out really well. I find it's more economical if I do a bunch all at once rather than do one or two at a time, as they had a flat rate plus materials. I could do 6-8 pedal labels for about 30-50 bucks.

Another method I'd like to start using (I just got some supplies for it anyway) is to use staz-on inks and rubber alphabet stamps. I got some that are about 1/3 of an inch square, but I feel like that's too big when it comes to the letters... I got them at Michael's here in Canada, and that was the smallest size of alphabet stamps, but I'm going to see if I can find some smaller. I need 9-10 letters to fit into 2 inches.

ID-MARK sheets are photopolymer resist coated sheets of aluminum and polyester. The resist cures when exposed to UV and rinses away with simple tap water in the unexposed areas, leaving behind spot color graphic images.

i went to local hobby store and got decal paper that is printer friendly . you put on like water decals for car models like when u was lil kid. than clear coat it on .
