Boss AW-2 ouch!!!!

So I just tried my old Boss AW-2, have not used it since I was 17.  It is harsh!  the wah effect seems to bite with treble terribly.  Is there any mods anybody knows for this pedal?  How to I tme the highs?  Thanks!
