Great Cheddar gated setting/volume query

I just finished my Great Cheddar this morning and am enjoying the noise. I have a query however... when my volume is at max and I switch to the gated/cheese setting the sound is completely gated and nothing gets through, even with the trimmer set at zero. To get it to work I roll back the volume a little in that setting. All the other settings work fine at max volume... is this normal behaviour for this pedal? If not, is there a tweak to fix it?

I would guess a wiring issue at first blush.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Yup.

If you were having this experience with the Fuzz control, I'd say it was working correctly (depending on the trimmer setting).

Thanks folks. I'll give it the once over tomorrow morning and see how I get on.

:icon_redface: I've had another look, It is the fuzz control, not the volume. I was looking at the board upside down  ::)

So my question should be... I have my trimmer set at minimum. With my fuzz at full only chords get through (and even with that they're too gated for my taste), single notes not so much. Rolling back the fuzz clears this. Is this normal behaviour.

Sorry guys...

That's how I remember mine as working. The little bugger is hiding from me at the moment so I can't check where my trim is set.

The interaction you post is exactly how I wanted it- you get a range of crackle from just gated splats to fuzz with crackly mischief in the decay.

That's good to hear, sounds like what I have.
