Just wondering why i cant find 0.0040uF & 0.0039uF in the UK?

Im now used to having to hunt for alternative transistors, but this is the first time iv had cap value issues.

If a pedal asks for a 0.0040uF or 0.0039uF, how big a deal is it using a 3300p or 4.7nF (in this case Im talking about the 0.0040uF or 0.0039uF C10 that is connected to the 3lug of Tone)

PRR

Tone caps don't have precise action, and are always a "to taste" thing.

Get both 3.3nF and 4.7nF, try both.

In this case, 3.3nF is a little brighter, 4.7nF a bit duller, than the original.

If your building a big muff I would plan on trying some other values as well.
I like 22n and 33n in my BMP tonestack. YMMV
I'm no EE or even a tech, just a monkey with a soldering iron that can read, and follow instructions. ;D

LOVE The BMP, built 3 variants (Russian green being my fave) but run out of "authentic" vale caps, although that seems to be a oxymoron the more i read about EH using what ever components they had floating about!

Will defernetly play about with a few values then  :icon_biggrin:
