Ruby amp hum?

jutt built a ruby & it humS when you put even a little bit of tone on?

Are you powering it with a battery or power supply?

power supply, 9v 2 amp.

UPDATE:

The Hum gets really bad if I plug into a Scrambler or Muff pedal (and turn up anything other then volume) to the extent i cant use them at all.......out of 9v batters, so cant test with one, could it be the 2amp from the power supply unit it to high?

if it is a wallwart type thing, it could just be poorly filtered and getting some ac hum. check out the huminator on the beavis audio site.

no luck, still  got hum....going to breadboard it out and try a few different components.
