How to wire a pre/post switch for a two channel pedal?

Looking to build a pedal with a clean boost and overdrive in the same box. I know how to wire the two together but how would i hook up a toggle to be able to select which one is first in line?  Much like the fulltone GT-500...  Thanks for any pointers you guys might have :-)

Maybe you could do something like this with a 4PDT footswitch:






The signal path is the red line, then you if stomp on the switch the signal path is the black line instead.

The number "1" can be either the boost or the OD, then "2" represents the other one.

Problem is you don't get true bypass on either effect, only the two of them together can be bypassed (not shown), needing a separate 2PDT or 3PDT if you want an LED.  Oh yeah this setup doesn't seem to let you have any LED indicators for which one is first either, you could probably modify it so it does though.  I'm not sure how.

Thanks guys but i'm hoping to just find a way to wire a switch and still have separate 3pdt stomps for each effect...keep everything in one box.

Certainly--the same principle applies--and you'll only need a 3pdt toggle (if you look on the diagram I posted, one pole is used for LEDs, which you won't need). Treat the send/return jacks like they're the ins/outs of your bypass switches (going to/from each channel), and the in/out jacks are the same as the in/out jacks in your box.
