I'm a noob trying to put this on a breadboard: http://media.createdigitalmedia.net/cdmu/images/2008/11/beepitschem.jpg    ... and eventually into a pedal

Should be easy enough, right? Well, not for me. Can someone who knows anything about this IC chime in with any advice, or if not, maybe a walkthru or possibly a diagram of some kind to show where to put each part in the breadboard? This is the simplest theremin circuit I could find, and it actually makes really cool sounds in the video (http://createdigitalmusic.com/2008/11/12/beep-it-portable-open-diy-optical-theremin/)

I guess I just don't really understand yet how the resistor, photocell and cap are placed when a schematic like this shows them tied into series with the +9v.

Thanks for any help, much appreciated

As a 2nd step on the theremin road, you could build a BFO metal detector.  Easier than the whole real theremin she-bang.  Hold a little piece of metal like a coin, and away you go. Couple the output into an amp, and the crowd hears it....
