I apologize if this is in the wrong spot - I couldn't find a better suited area for this.

I've got a red Jeckyll & Hyde problem that I'm having a problem with.  It seems that the LED on the OD side cuts out sometimes.  A friend of mine asked me to look at it and after playing it for a while I noticed it to.  The green light would switch on when I turned on the OD side, but then after a little while would simply go out.  I didn't think it was a switch issue - I didn't have any problems turning it on or off.  I would think it wouldn't be a LED problem, otherwise it would have burned out completely, no?  He spoke of some "crazy sound" that came out of it - I'm assuming it was oscillating or something along those lines.  I could not recreate this with a few of my guitars though.

Has anybody experienced anything like this with the J&H?

If it's one of the older (oops, I should have said "vintage"!  :icon_lol: ) flat topped ones, it probably is the footswitch. The common mechanical footswitches do wear out. Visual Sound runs a fast and reasonably priced repair service for all their pedals, even the older ones. You might check with them. http://www.visualsound.net

Extra honesty note: I work for Visual Sound. But I don't do the repairs.  :icon_biggrin:

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

I used the Visual Sound repair service, a guy named Dana, who was fantastic to work with, did a great job, was great to talk to, and really reasonably priced.  I think it was probably one of the best customer service interactions I've ever had.

And, I DON'T work for Visual Sound....  :)
