This is for a low gain Slilicon Fuzz Face somebody asked me to make.

Just two simple things. About an input gain pot and input caps.

I want a pot that controls the gain as your guitar volume does. But doesn't actually go to 0
I want to connect it to a stomp switch so you can go between full gain an pre-set lower gain.

Not sure of what value pot or the best way to do this.

Also the guy want it to be less fuzzy and bassy for humbuckers. Thought i'd ask opinions on two good input caps to put on a switch.
What are two good value caps that are less bassy but will still be full enough?

Lots of ways to do this, but not sure any one is better than another . A pot with in to lug 3----lug 2 to circuit input ----lug one to a small value (sets minimum level) resistor then ground.....you could figure out the two input resistances you like and put them on a FS......etc, etc...lots of ways...

adjust the 100k feedback resistor instead... use a 47k in series with a 100k pot....makes it better for singles and humbuckers both.

Hey thanks. That Axis pre-gain worked nice.

I've yet to mess with the 100k resistor in the fuzz face. Sure to though, now.

I built this after a guy loved a low gain fuzz I sold on ebay.
It used 2N3643 transistors with HFE of 80 about and 130. Said it sounds great with hi strat.

I really like these transistors. Look like black tablet pills. The only place I've found them is at electronicgoldmine.com
The first few I have were in that perfect HFE range. Another batch I just bought had too many below 50 HFE.
A bit pissed about that.

So he wanted another similar fuzz with less bass and fuzziness for his other guitarist using a Les Paul.
For more rhythm work. So far I think what I have will do nice.

Thanks
