Y'know, after seeing parts like this:  http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Omron-Electronics/D7E-2/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMs8I5ltipPMAPqJLp3DNMXF
I can't help but wonder if it's possible to rig up a guitar hero style 'star power' circuit where if you tilt your guitar straight up it'll trigger whatever you have it attached to.  Like a boost or even a freakin' hilariously big led display or something.  Why in the world has no one put this together yet?  :P

I mean, it's a Single pole single throw so why not.  Wonder if they have a 3PDT version..

I seem to remember some discusion about this a little while back.  I belive the consensus was that it wasn;t practical for an effect, but a 'freaking hilariously big LED display' would be pretty awesome.  Like, if I were in the audience, I'd be like "Oh man, that rules".  But I have a soft spot for hilarity for the sake of hilarity.

It'd be a gag more than anything, but I can't help but play around with the idea.   It'd be nice to have it rigged up to a 3PTD somehow, so you could choose to have it not turn on at all.  I dunno, I'd love to have the money to burn just to try it.

You can achieve the same "level of awsomeness" by talking to the lighting engineer.
"Please turn on your blinders when I point my guitar upwards". There, free awsome.

Oh my god this is genius.

Connect it as the ring on a stereo jack out of your guitar and have a breakout box to seperate the guitar signal and the 'test' path inside the guitar, put a relay in the breakout box and a distortion in the loop

It'd be great :)

You can use a mercury switch (SPST) from a thermostat to do something position-sensitive....could be little Spinal Tap-ish, he he he!
