is it the only way to reduce the hiss (besides more filtering ) by reducing the bias on each stage?  ???

Shielded wire for input /output/gain/treble
BIG improvement

i've done this....

right now the only real good way to reduce noise is adding more and bigger caps paraleled to the trimers

Hmmm, mine is open/unboxed and uses unshielded wire at the moment and with the 12n to ground it has almost no hiss.
Maybe your layout or lead dress is adding noise ?
Which layout did you use ?
EDIT-Also are you using a battery or power supply to power it with ?

the layout is mine...  and I'm testing with 9v batery.


is there a ceeling from where to cut the treble to make is less HIZZ intensive?
