Footswitch cable

Hi,

Whats the best cable (shielded guitar chord/regular 5amp lighting chord)  to use for amp footswitches eg Blues junior FAT switch & Roland Cube 80X EFX/Channel.

The Cube needs 6 switches  (5 latching and 1 momentary) I was thinking 7core cable (trailer lighting cable 9/0.3) with three TRS jacks and use one wire as a common ground for all three jacks. Is there any issue using one ground like this?
