compressor recomendations

I want to build a comp. not the MXR or ross. I am thinking something optical. Any suggestions?

The 280 is really pretty simple and works well- not one of those 'heavy-handed' compressor types.  The Q and D is a very good one, but takes a little tinkering with to make it more suitable for guitar

the demeter compulator is a nice opto-sounding comp and a fairly easy build.
