People sometimes sell old radios and stuff like that at flee markets for really cheap ... is there any particular model i should be looking for to get some 2N5133 out of it? Anyone has any experience with this?

EHX used to use them quite a bit.

Edit: Sorry, I misread the question. In my experience, it's difficult to find specific transistors in old equipment. A lot of them used oddball transistors because they were cheap. You're probably better off getting 2N5133s from small bear or some other store. If you really want to salvage radios, you'd be better of getting one or two, taking the transistors, looking up their datasheets, and trying to match them to ones we normally use based on type, material, and electrical characteristics.

You may know this but the 2N5133 from Small Bear aren't high enough gain to make a vintage Muff, which I am assuming is what you want them for.   Still, they can sound good and I use them for various things, though about 1 in 3 is too noisy to use.

Guys thanks, but i know 2N5133 from Small Bear. I have bought about 20 of them. My question means this:
If anyone knows any type of a vintage unit (apart from a Big Muff) that contains 2N5133, please post it here.
