hey guys,

I'm fresh meat to this site so please bear with me.  I'm in the middle of converting my vox wah into a wah/volume.  I got the cap switch on/off figured but, was wondering if anyone knows how to make the pot turn all the way off in the volume mode.  I've read that this compromises the wah's sweep, but I'm more concerned with getting the volume all the way off for swells and such.  I've read from http://www.wah-wah.co.uk/diy.html that:

"The wah circuit will thin out the tone in volume mode - to get around this, the '70s Jen Wah-Volume pedal switches in a 4K7 resistor and 0.22µF cap in series across the 0.01µF "sweep cap". This isn't a very useful mod in practice; if the pot is set to get a good wah sweep, it won't go silent in volume mode, and if it's set up to kill the volume, there won't be enough treble in the wah."

Not sure if this would solve my problem?  I've removed the pot from the chassis and turned it down all the way and it still produces sound.  All the way up boosts the signal. I tried using a different pot and got the same results.  Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the "Jen Wah-Volume" schematic. http://www.schematicheaven.com/effects/jen_wahvol.pdf

As Stuart Castledine points out, there is no perfect wah-volume pedal. You usually have to compromise and choose whether you want the wah section to take precedence, or vice versa.
