Boss SD-1 mod gone wrong?

Last night, I performed the SD-808 mod on my SD-1 that's pictured in this thread, http://music-electronics-forum.com/t5778/.  Now, the output volume is decreased significantly, by almost half.  I'm not sure why this is.  I did use 1/2 watt resistors instead of 1/4 watt ones.

Is the electro cap orientated right?

I'm not sure.  How should it be oriented?

The same way as the original cap that you took out.

Surely the most obvious thing to do is turn the cap around and see if it makes a difference.
