Trim pots

just a quick question:
what do the numbers mean on trimpots? i know its their resistance, but i don't know how to read it
i.e.: a trimmer marked 104- what's the 104 mean? is it like 10*10^4 ohms? kilohms?
just kinda confused. google was no help, surprisingly. thanks in advance for any help ^.^

just a quick question:

here's another example:   503 = 50,000 = 50k

don't forget - you can always hook up a multi-meter to any resistor/pot and get the value .....
