Having built my small clone clone, which is working beautifully, and fitted it within the enclosure, I now can't fit the footswitch and the pcb in the box at the same time. Fail ???

Does anyone know of another way of fitting a footswitch that doesn't take up so much space in the enclosure.

I thought for a moment I could use a tactile smd type switch mounted on a small pcb but of course these don't latch. Is there a circuit that can use these switches with some sort of press on press off arrangement? I know some pedal manufacturers ( Dod!) us a small switch instead of the large latching switch but I can't butcher one to see because I sold them on on evilbay.

I'm surely not the first person to have this problem.

Colin.

p.s.  I'm currently also building a Tube screamer and Orange squeezer which I intend to fit in the same box. The idea being you can have clean sustain and dirty sustain. Has anyone tried this before?

Yes, look into flip-flop circuits. Boss schematics offer one option (discrete) but there are also integrated circuits that do this.

Hi--

This tactile switch:

is DPDT latching and is used a lot for bypass. But by the time you add the actuator:

I am not sure how much space it would save you. Maybe you want to think about re-housin in order to buy enough room for a stomp switch.

Thanks.   Flips flops may be a bit too advanced for me.   Bigger :icon_wink: box it is then.

i usually look in electronic stores until i find what i am looking for!there is a greater variety of switches in shops! :Dtry that if you have any nearby! :icon_wink:
