I want to strip down the TS9 to its absolute minimum...I want to have the gain full up and only tweak it with the guitars volume...Logic tells me to just bypass the 500k pot to act as the control fully open...am I on the right track???
Thanks all,

Sub the 500k pot with a fixed 500k resistor.

The other way around.  In a feedback loop like in the TS higher resistance = higher gain.  Btw, you dont need to use a 500k, you could go higher for more gain.  A lot of boutique clones on the TS use a 1M pot for gain.
