Hi!
Anybody have any tips on what decal type that would be good to use on a hammerite painted enclosure? The finish is not that smooth and i suspect a regular glue-on type decal would look bubbly. How about waterslide, never tried that, would it smooth out? I'm mostly interested in the lettering ex "volume" so only single letters would do. Anybody have any tips?

You're right you can't finish it very smoothly , there will remain some airbubbles.

Yes, so what is a good way to add text? Watersilde letters?

Full face waterslide on hammerite - no problems. The decal "conforms" to the texture.

Very very nice! What brand are you using? They havee some at Banzai, but it's egg shell white, I need transparent. It sais it can be made white with oil though???

I use a Laser printer.

I don't know how that will affect you. When I was doing inkjet decals - you had to print your decal - then shoot a coat of clear over the decal to seal the ink as it would wash away when you soaked it otherwise.

I always add about 1/4 white vinegar (eg: 3/4c water + 1/4c white vinegar= 1 full cup)  to my water when soaking decals - it the same stuff they sell as "decal softener" or "decal set".
