I am looking for a laser printer that I can use to make PCB's. I want to use the Press N' peel Blue sheet method for making them(if anybody has a better suggestion for making them lemme know!)

I was looking at the Brother HL-2140 laser printer, as I am on a budget and that is the cheapest I can find, its monochrome(Black and white) and i saw it at best buy too and it was pretty compact and nice, heres a link:

Would this be a good idea?

I have a different model laser printer from Brother and its worked well. I back em.

I have heard people having issues with Brother printers not putting out enough toner. However, it could be one of those things where one person has a problem because of a fluke or user error and then it gets repeated forever.

I just bought a Samsung ML-2525 based on a recommendation on this forum. I think it was around $75 shipped new. I got it on Amazon. It works great and looks super hip.

I always suggest this site for atleast seeing if you can get a laser printer for completely free, more often than not they'll come with toner - http://www.freecycle.org/
Sign up to your local group and search the ads, find one for free, pick it up and you got your self a nice laser printer... could be an idea if you're on a budget.

I've got the samsung ML-2240. toner transfers work wonderfully with it! I miss far less transfers with this than  did with my old HP laserjet 5 (i think it was)

I just picked up a Brother laser printer from Newegg.com for $70 and it works like a charm.

I have the 2140 and find that it's lacking. I'm still a novice so it could just be my inexperience. I have also read several threads in various forums about how the brother printers struggle when it comes to making toner transfers. I am going to buy the samsung next, I have heard nothin but praise for them.

I purchased the 2140 and it seems to work fine.  I am also a novice at PCB making but have not had any issues with the printer.

What issues have people been having with the Brother printer?

StereoKills

If anyone is interested, I got a promo code from newegg that is good through sunday (7/4) for the Samsung ML-1665 bringing the price down to $50. PM me if you want it.

I use an HP Laserjet 4. It is old, but very reliable. Toners are dirt cheap and last for about 7000 pages. The one I got was one euro on e-bay. Get a model which has a network adapter installed.

I use a HP LaserJet P1006, got it for $50 off eBay.  I'm still using the toner cartridge it came with and I've done 150+ pcb's with it.  I think it may be discontinued now but gets my thumbs up for a second hand buy if you can find one.

Cheers
