MXR Phase 100 Rotary switch POP!!!

So I have built the P100 from JD's GGG website and I must say that I LOVE THIS PEDAL!!!! I do have one annoying problem with it. Anytime I try to switch the sweep intensity, there is a loud POP. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this popping sound? I can't imagine that MXR issued this pedal (MXR Phase 100) with this popping noise!!

I have scoured the archives and there is no info for this particular rotary switch/popping problem. Anyone build this? Anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

Perhaps MXR didn't expect anyone to bend down and move the switch while playing? Change the intensity setting with the pedal in bypass.
