i'm starting to try to get into making effect pedals, and for my first attempt at doing anything i switched out the LED in my ibanez ts-9. It was a really dim red LED, so i switched it out for a bright purple LED.

Everything went well, until it came to putting the circuitry back into the pedal enclosure. I forgot to mark witch pot was drive, tone, and level, and i CANNOT figure it out!

Every schematic i can find for a TS-9 has all of the off-board components labeled A-N, while mine is numbered 1-14, and every wire color underneath. The letters that every schematic does NOT match up with my numbers.

I thought i figured it out last night when i did it, i played with every pot until i figure out what it did to the signal, etc, but now it's not working....it sends a clean signal out, whether engaged or not, and the pots don't change it. WTF?

long story short, would a brave soul open their ts-9 and tell me what colors are connected to which pot, and which colors are connected to the input and output?

Between this and my first effect utterly failing, i'm feeling very down about this whole DIY thing...

Ah, stay with it, Bass!  I don't have a 'real' TS-9, so I can't help, but someone will!
The reason it's not working right now is probably a short between 2 parts that shouldn't be touching.
Until you get the hang of certain 'rules' and practices, DIY can be frustrating. And mistakes will be made. But eventually, you'll develop a pattern of how you work, and it will help you to avoid these confusions.  We've all been there, ha ha.
Maybe you'll break the TS-9 (I broke a Boss SD-1), and will have to build one totally from scratch  >;o)

thanks for the kind words

I figured out the correct pots ( i found a small ts-9 modding site that had really nice pictures), but now the effect doesn't work at all...

I know how you fell  :o In this case, some pictures of the pedal would be extremely helpful. Post some pics. Also, double check that there are NO wires hanging around that are not connected.
