maestro uss-1a footswitch

trying to build a foot switch box for my maestro uss-1a. you can see a picture of one here. the six foot switches run to a 12 pin connector and from the schematic I can find 11 of the pin connections.

pin connections 10 and 11 are +VAC and -VAC straight from the wall. I assume these are used only for the light indicators which are actual bulb lights on the original foot unit.
pins 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 12 are the actual effect connections, since there are 6 total effects.
pins 1, 2, and 4 provide the switching.
pin 8 does not seem to connect to anything.

not sure how to go about wiring this or even what footswitches to use as i do not understand the switching method being used.
