Hi, got rid of an annoying hum in my unit (an Orange Squuezer and DOD 250 combined using the General Gadgets wiring diagram) by simply replacing the power supply (no 9v batts) with a regulated filtered one. Yay!
However!!! I found out that when you press the compressors 3PDT switch for On, the LED doesnt light, and pressing it for Off engages the LED....
I think the switch may be at fault, as I soldered and desoldered it many times when trying to fix the aforementioned hum. This last time I did notice a lug on the compressor switch move slightly...
The OD is fine...
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated..

Glad you got your power supply sorted. Sounds like you have your LED across the wrong set of contacts on your switch. Double throw switches close from a common terminal to one set of contacts in the first position and from common to the second set of contacts in the second position. Get your trusty DMM and figure out the switch and just wire your LED appropriately - Bobs your Aunty.

Thanks...it just seems odd that ive followed the wiring sheet (have checked it SO many times...) and this happens....
I did, however change the wiring from the diagram but everything is still the same, the same lugs relate to the same points on the effect. This is what I have -

Comp      OD

1 2 3     1 2 3
4 5 6     4 5 6
7 8 9     7 8 9

where 456 are the common lugs, and the first switch is the Compressor and the 2nd switch, the OD

Compressor -                                                            OD -

1 - Input Jack Signal                                                   1 - Connected to Compressor switch
2 - PCB output                                                            2 - PCB output
3 - LED                                                                      3 - LED
4 - PCB Input                                                              4 - PCB input
5 - To OD switch                                                         5 - Output Jack signal
6 - PCB ground                                                           6 - PCB ground
7 - Jumper to 9                                                           7 - Jumper going to lug 9
8 - Jumper to 1 going to Input Jack Signal                      8 - Jumper to 1 going to Compressor switch
9 - Jumper to 7                                                            9 - Jumper to 7

If anyone can possibly see how this is different to the Gadgets wiring diagram, please let me know!!! It just seems odd the OD is perfectly fine..

Thanks,
Glenn
