Looper is making my head hurt

I'm trying to build a looper at the mo and it's not going to plan  :-[

The setup I'm after is for one loop which can be activated by either a 3pdt to have the effect latched on or by a momentary switch.  Here's my first attempt which resulted in a feedback looper  :icon_rolleyes:

I'm starting to think this may not be possible.  Any ideas on how to achieve it as it's making my head hurt!

Cheers, Remmy.

OK I managed to figure this one out and have it working of sorts, here's the wiring...

The pedal is doing what I need but as both switches are connected to each send and return jack the signal is being split and losing volume.

Is there a way round this?  I was thinking about trying some diodes on the wires tomorrow.  I may even put an lpb-1 in there to give it a boost.

Any thoughts?

That's not a looper. This.... is a looper.

Ahem, sorry. The answer to your loss of volume is a buffer. Jack has a great page on simple buffers.

I would suggest this one:

Hehe, thanks Taylor  :icon_biggrin:

I have a buffer pedal and tried it and there was a definate inprovement, however the 3PDT was quite noisy, probably due to the amount of soldering I've subjected it to over the last few days.  So I replaced it and now the looper sounds great without the buffer, I continue to live and learn...
